POSITION TITLE:                          Government Affairs Office (GAO ) Hearts for Home Care Ambassador 


The GAO Hearts for Home Care (H4HC) Ambassador is a voluntary assignment for BAYADA office employees.  The GAO Ambassador serves as the point of contact between the BAYADA Government Affairs Office and the Ambassador’s home office and serves to extend the reach of the GAO to all office staff and legislators.  The primary responsibility for the GAO Ambassadors is to develop and foster relationships with their local legislators through district office meetings and home visits.  In addition the GAO Ambassador forwards information on key issues to office staff and encourages advocacy efforts.

  6. Has the time available to engage in advocacy 
  7. Is registered and takes action on heartsforhomecare.com


Participates in an initial H4HC Ambassador training or is oriented individually by the GAO Grassroots Advocacy Manager and the GAO Director.  After initial training the H4HC  Ambassador participates in subsequent annual training activities and quarterly conference calls.  

  1. Meets with their local legislators in the district office at least once per year
  2. Schedules and attends a legislative home visit at least once per year
  3. Documents all legislative interactions on the advocacy website
  4. Encourages staff to participate in advocacy activities
  5. Attends legislative days  as appropriate
  6. Discusses information relayed by GAO director or Grassroots Advocacy Manager to office staff
